The U.S. Forest Service estimated the Blind Hollow Fire at 15 acres. Forest Service officials said the fire's growth was not very active, even as crews worked on the ground and a helicopter helped with containment efforts.

The Utah Department of Transportation said U.S. Highway 89 was closed at both ends of Logan Canyon. That left travel blocked from Logan and from Garden City, with no estimated time for reopening.
