Nike Air Max One Piece now has a release plan, and it is built around three Nike Air Max Plus colorways inspired by Devil Fruits. Nike set the global Nike SNKRS drop for September 25, with the collection moving through pop-ups first and each pair priced at $180.

Nick Remlinger and Devil Fruits

Nick Remlinger, GM, Energy Gaming, Nike, said, "We were inspired by the superhuman abilities that are unleashed when One Piece characters eat the Devil Fruits, much like the feeling an athlete has when they put on a pair of Nikes." He also said, "We then started reimagining the beloved Air Max Plus in a way that fans of the silhouette have never seen before," which explains why the rollout is not just a standard color swap.

The collection includes the Gomu Gomu no Mi, Ope Ope no Mi, and Mera Mera no Mi versions of the Air Max Plus. Each pair uses retooled upper patterns to match the fruit inspiration, and all three carry a Nike-branded Jolly Roger emblem on the tongue. The Mera Mera pair references fire-control abilities, the Gomu Gomu pair references a body that turns to rubber, and the Ope Ope pair references transport to the ROOM.

Pop-ups before September 25

The first access point comes through a poll on the main SNKRS home feed from August 23 through September 18 for the One Piece x Nike Air Max Plus Gomu Gomu release. Select users who participate will receive a push notification on September 18, so the SNKRS path is staggered rather than open all at once.

Pop-ups begin in Tokyo from September 4-6, then move to Hong Kong, Jakarta, Mexico City, Seoul, Shanghai, Taipei, and Umeda on September 12. Another batch is set for Amsterdam, Dallas, Decatur, Düsseldorf, Lawrenceville, London, Madrid, Milan, San Diego, Stockholm, and Washington DC on September 19, with Australia getting a Sydney event through Supply from October 16-18.

Apparel and Nike By You

The One Piece collection is not limited to sneakers. Nike added apparel with co-branded T-shirts, manga-style reworks of vintage Nike ads, matching hats and jerseys for each sneaker, and a vest with the same Jolly Roger treatment.

Select regions will also get Nike By You customization options at pop-ups, which makes the retail rollout more layered than a single global sale. That structure favors shoppers who can reach a city activation early; everyone else is left with the September 25 Nike SNKRS drop, where the three pairs land at the same $180 price.

Remlinger closed his comments by saying, "As we bring this collection to life, there are even more surprises coming — just like any great adventure." He may be talking about the franchise, but the business setup is already clear: staggered access, limited in-person windows, and one national release date that decides who gets in without the trip.
