4A Games Shows Metro 2039 Collector's Edition in Cologne

4A Games is showing the Metro 2039 Collector's Edition to the public for the first time at Gamescom in Cologne, and the box set’s lead item is a wearable Spartan helmet. The reveal arrives while Metro 2039 is still scheduled for release in February 2027, a long runway that lets Deep Silver build interest now instead of waiting for launch.

The Spartan helmet details

The Collector's Edition centers on The Wanderer’s battered helmet, cast directly from the game’s 3D model. It includes a visor, battle damage, and an integrated breathing mask, which makes it more than a display piece; it is designed as a life-size wearable item tied to the new protagonist rather than a generic replica.

4A Games is bringing that edition to Cologne for Gamescom this week, and this is the first time the public will see it. For a collector-facing release, that matters operationally: it moves the edition from concept art and teaser trailer territory into a physical product people can inspect before pre-orders begin later this year.

February 2027 for Metro 2039

Metro 2039 is still far enough away that the publisher can use Gamescom and this week as an anticipation program instead of a final sales push. The game sends players back to the irradiated tunnels of Moscow and puts them against the rule of Hunter as The Wanderer, so the helmet is doing double duty here: it sells the Collector's Edition and visually anchors the new lead character.

The number of units will remain strictly limited, which makes the public debut more than a standard merchandising reveal. If the helmet is the part that decides whether someone buys, the clock starts later this year, when pre-orders open and the edition stops being a showpiece and becomes an inventory decision.
