Police in Spain are investigating the deaths of an Irish couple after their bodies were found in a hot tub at a rented villa in Cullera on Tuesday. Their two children, aged 14 and 16, discovered the bodies and alerted the homeowner and authorities.
Pablo Cea, the Civil Guard spokesman in Valencia, said the man was 50 and the woman was 45. He said, "That does not mean this was a homicide" and added, "It could be an accident – every hypothesis is open for investigation."

The discovery was made on the Cap Blanc residential estate in Cullera, a town of about 25,000 people 40km south of Valencia. The Civil Guard said both victims were Irish and that a local homicide unit is handling the case.
The homicide-unit review does not close off the possibility of accident. It keeps the inquiry open while police examine whether the deaths involved foul play or happened in the Jacuzzi.
