Tom Clancy's The Division 2 is getting Crossplay in November, and Ubisoft paired that announcement with Echoes of Central Park as the next expansion. The timing matters because the new system is meant to widen matchmaking across platforms and cut down on queue times.

Yannick Banchereau and Alex Birzanu joined Ubisoft's first The Division 2 panel at Gamescom, where the publisher laid out the next phase of the game. Banchereau said, "We have officially kicked off Gamescom with our first The Division 2 panel, joined by Creative Director Yannick Banchereau and Game Director Alex Birzanu to take a look at what’s coming up next for The Division 2."
November is the key marker for players because Crossplay is supposed to open matchmaking beyond a single platform pool. Ubisoft said the feature required partially rebuilding the game's online architecture, which is the sort of work that usually sits below the surface until it changes who can find a group and how quickly.
Red Horizon and Season 4
August 27 is the other date on the board, with Red Horizon set to launch first. Ubisoft said the season will push Cleaner activity across Washington, D.C. after the events of Battle for Brooklyn, while Elite Kill Squads also grow across the city.
Season 4 is also getting a broader systems pass. The Modifier system will center on a new Pressure Gauge, and the game is adding updates to the Dark Zone that split the experience in two directions: a permanent Toxic PvE Dark Zone and Blackout on the PvP side.
Central Park inside The Division
Blackout removes the usual power restrictions and allows Agents to bring the full strength of their builds into the Dark Zone, including SHD Watch bonuses, Expertise, and Prototype Gear. That is a more aggressive structure than a standard rotation, and it makes the Dark Zone a place where build depth matters more than pure entry limits.
Echoes of Central Park is the title of the next expansion, and the location choice reaches for a setting The Division has never truly explored. Central Park was used as a mass burial ground during the outbreak, and years later what remains inside it is still unknown.
For players, the near-term read is simple: Red Horizon lands first, Crossplay follows in November, and the expansion title signals that Ubisoft is steering The Division 2 toward a larger New York story without yet spelling out the full scope of that return.
