Why Liverpool cannot host Real Madrid at Anfield
That rule matters immediately for Liverpool and Real Madrid. In 2024-25, Liverpool hosted Real Madrid at Anfield and won 2-0. In 2025-26, the same fixture was repeated at Anfield and Liverpool won 1-0.
