Penybont have added a significant piece of attacking experience by signing Jonathan Leko after his trial with Notts County this summer did not lead to a move. For a Cymru Premier side building momentum and ambition, it is a notable arrival.
The 27-year-old brings a rare level of English football pedigree to South Wales, with 14 Premier League appearances and more than 80 Championship appearances to his name. In total, Leko has made 250 club appearances, scoring 17 goals and providing 19 assists across his career.
A move that adds proven experience
That background is what makes this deal stand out. Penybont are not just signing a forward with ability, but one who has already spent years in the English Football League and has seen the game at a much higher level than most players moving into the Cymru Premier.

His trial at Meadow Lane did not result in a permanent deal, but Penybont have moved quickly to secure a player whose level of experience is unusual for Welsh football.
