Hull City’s summer rebuild is moving quickly, and Mohamed-Ali Cho now looks set to be one of the next pieces in place. Sergej Jakirovic said the club had agreed terms with the 22-year-old and expected him to be announced today, a sign that the final stretch of the window is already shaping the shape of Hull’s squad rather than just its depth.
That matters because this is not being framed as an isolated signing. If Cho’s move goes through, he would be one of the club’s 12th and 13th additions of the summer alongside Ilyas Ansah, underlining how aggressively Hull City are trying to reshape the group before the window closes. Jakirovic’s message was clear: the club is still adding, but it is also still sorting priorities.

Jakirovic said Hull are still working on “one more midfielder” and “one more” player on the left side, which tells you the recruitment work is not close to done. He also made it clear that several options remain under discussion, including Robinio Vaz, Yeremay Hernandez and Sorba Thomas. The key point is not just who comes in, but how quickly the club can complete the remaining pieces while other deals are still moving.
That urgency was also reflected in the expected timeline for Ansah. Jakirovic said he believed the move would be finished tomorrow after the medical, describing it as a strong signing for the club. In other words, Hull are not waiting for one arrival to settle before pursuing the next. They are stacking decisions on top of each other, which is often how a rebuild moves from theory to reality.
The final week could still bring departures
Jakirovic also pointed to the final week of the transfer window as a period when departures from the MKM Stadium are expected. That is the other side of the rebuilding process. Incoming players can change the ceiling, but outgoing business often decides whether the squad is simply larger or actually more balanced.
There is still a lot to finish, and Jakirovic’s comments suggested he knows that.
