Namibia, South Africa and Zimbabwe will meet in a T20I tri-series for the first time beginning on 28 August at the Namibia Cricket Ground in Windhoek, giving the three sides a useful early look at one another ahead of the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2027 cycle.
The opening match is NAM vs SA at 2pm CAT on 28 August, with South Africa then facing Zimbabwe on 29 August at the same time. The summit clash is scheduled for 6 September.
Why the series matters
The tri-series is being framed as an early teaser for next year's ICC Men's Cricket World Cup and as part of the buildup toward the 2027 tournament. It also comes after the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2027 venues and brand were announced in Johannesburg.
For Namibia, the event adds another major assignment at home after the Namibia Cricket Ground hosted the ICC Men's Under-19 Cricket World Cup earlier this year. For South Africa and Zimbabwe, it offers a rare shared competition environment before the World Cup returns to Africa for the first time since 2003.
