Jordan’s one-script update
Jordan said he has only gotten one script for Landman season 3, which is usually the kind of paper trail that tells you the machine is still moving but not yet fully loaded. “I’ve only gotten one [script]. [Creator] Taylor [Sheridan] is in the thick of it as we speak. He’s writing season 2 as we speak.”
He followed that with a more direct production window: “We start work here in about three weeks and we’re going to pump out a great new season for folks.” For a series that has been living on a holiday-season schedule, that is the number that matters most right now.
May moved to late September
Season 3 was originally scheduled to start filming in May, then got pushed three months later, with the new start date seemingly planned for late September. That kind of shift usually changes the calendar in front of the camera first, then the rollout after it. Jordan’s update narrows the gap, but it does not erase it.
He was even more specific about the timing: “I don’t see why if we don’t start sometime after Labor Day — and if we hit the ground running — I don’t see why we can’t have some episodes out by Christmas.” That is not a promise. It is a production estimate built on how fast current editing pipelines can move once cameras roll.
Holiday window for Landman
Landman first premiered in November 2024 after filming began in Texas early that year, and season 2 followed a similar rhythm: production started in 2025, ended that August, and the episodes aired in November 2025. That cadence is why Jordan keeps pointing to “Thanksgiving through the end of the year” as a sweet spot for the show.
He said, “The way they edit nowadays, the turnaround is so quick. We might be on the air before the end of the year. I certainly hope so. That little holiday window that we’ve had the last two seasons around Thanksgiving through the end of the year, I think that’s just such a perfect window for Landman.”

The practical read is simple: if work really starts in about three weeks, the season has a real path toward late-year episodes, but only if the delayed production actually stays on track. Jordan is optimistic, and the schedule now gives that optimism a date attached to it instead of a vague wish.
