Brook Street Roundabout queues
The AA put the delay at around half an hour, and queues stretched back towards Junction 12 for Mountnessing. A detour was in place for bus route 498, giving road users a separate route while the slip road stayed shut. For anyone heading through Essex or south Essex, the problem sat on a key link between the M25 and the A12 rather than on a local road.

The collision was reported to Essex Police at about 8.20am on Friday 28 August, and the force said it remained at the scene. Essex Police also said there were no injuries, even as the closure held traffic back across the roundabout and onto the A12 eastbound.
Motorists were told to avoid the area until the scene was cleared, which leaves the reopening of the Junction 28 slip road as the immediate issue for anyone planning to use that route. Until that happens, the practical option is to stay away from the closed exit and use another route rather than join the queue already building on the M25 side of Brook Street Roundabout.
