Melinda French Gates doubled the Olivia Rodrigo setlist fundraiser to $20 million on Saturday night, turning a $10 million announcement into a larger payout for women-focused nonprofits. The money now goes to 10 beneficiary organizations, split equally, after Rodrigo used her headlining set to frame the festival as a funding machine as much as a concert.

Rodrigo told the crowd before her set that the festival was donating $10 million to 10 incredible charities. She also said French Gates had pledged to double every dollar made at the festival to a grand total of $20 million, pushing the total well past the figure she had announced on Friday at a press conference ahead of the weekend.
That $20 million pool will be divided evenly among Baby2Baby, Black Mamas Matter Alliance, Center for Reproductive Rights, FreeFrom, Jhpiego, Johns Hopkins Center for Indigenous Health, National Domestic Workers Alliance, National Institute for Reproductive Health, National Women’s Law Center and Planned Parenthood. With the split locked at 10 ways, each group is set to receive an equal share rather than a tiered grant structure.
Friday’s $10 Million Mark
Friday’s announcement had already set a high floor for Daisy Chain Fields, which was announced in June as Rodrigo’s inaugural festival. The weekend’s result moved the event from an opening-year experiment into a philanthropic platform with enough scale to draw a matching pledge from French Gates.
Rodrigo thanked the musicians who took part in the festival before her headlining set on Saturday night, naming Chappell Roan, Mitski, Doechii, Bikini Kill, the Breeders, Garbage, Eli, Quiet Light, Rachel Chinouriri, Devon Again and Not For Radio, along with special guests Stevie Nicks, Karen O and Sarah McLachlan. Her remarks made the free-performance model part of the fundraising story, not just the staging around it.
