Brooke Norton Cuffy is the name on the brief, but Hull City’s immediate move is Mohamed-Ali Cho: Sergej Jakirovic said the 22-year-old should be announced today. Ilyas Ansah is next, with the 21-year-old due to finish his move after a medical check tomorrow.
Hull City and the 12th signing
Jakirovic said, “We agreed on everything with Ali Cho, so I think he will be announced today.” That puts Hull City on the cusp of a 12th summer signing before Ansah is added as the 13th. For a squad already being rebuilt at pace, that is not routine business; it is a full-window overhaul.
Cho is set to arrive from Nice, while Ansah is set to move from Union Berlin. One is expected to land today, the other after the medical tomorrow, and that sequence gives Hull City a short, clear path to two more additions before the window moves on.
Union Berlin and Nice moves
Jakirovic also said, “Ansah will go on medical checks, so after the medical check, I am expecting that tomorrow it will be finished. This is a great signing for us.” The wording matters because it separates the two deals: Cho is ready for announcement, while Ansah still has to clear the medical before Hull City can close him out.
The club’s activity does not stop there. Jakirovic said, “Maybe I’m expecting one more midfielder” and, “And on the left side, one more.” He then named Robinio Vaz, Yeremay Hernandez and Sorba Thomas as options, while also saying Hull City are working with a few possibilities and moving toward whoever is faster to agree terms.
MKM Stadium departures
Jakirovic added a complication that keeps this from reading like a one-way shopping list: departures are expected from the MKM Stadium in the final week of the transfer window. That means the incoming stream and the outgoing stream may overlap, with Hull City still balancing additions against exits while the squad takes shape.
Hull City are also believed to be pursuing a loan deal for Manchester United midfielder Toby Collyer, and they are hoping for the return of Fabio Carvalho on loan from Brentford. Even with Cho and Ansah moving toward the door, the remaining questions are narrower now: whether the club lands that extra midfielder, whether the left-side target arrives, and which of the named options gets there first.
