Atlanta police are investigating a fatal shooting early Tuesday morning at an apartment complex on Defoors Ferry Road Northwest in northwest Atlanta. A 22-year-old woman was shot in the torso and later died after a friend drove her to Grady Memorial Hospital.
Officers were called to the complex around 2 a.m. after reports of gunfire, but they did not find a victim at the scene. The woman was not taken by ambulance, and the man who drove her to Grady was taken to Atlanta Police Department headquarters to speak with homicide detectives.
