ABC set the DWTS Season 35 hosts reveal for Sept. 2 on Good Morning America, keeping the full cast and celebrity-pro pairings off the board until that broadcast. The timing leaves viewers with less than two weeks before the Sept. 15 premiere on ABC and Disney+.
Good Morning America window
Good Morning America typically begins at 7 a.m. ET and runs for two hours, which puts the cast reveal somewhere inside a tight morning window. For viewers tracking the season launch, that means the full lineup could surface any time between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. ET rather than in a separate primetime special.
ABC had already put one pairing on the table: Guillermo Rodriguez will compete with returning pro Witney Carson. That leaves the rest of the celebrity-pro combinations for the Sept. 2 broadcast, including the full group of contestants and the remaining dance partners.
Sept. 1 preview mix-up
The confusion started on Sept. 1, when a Dancing with the Stars announcement aired on Good Morning America with hosts Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough and judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli. It looked like the cast reveal, but it functioned as a preview, not the official full announcement.
Derek Hough said the season looked “incredible” during that Sept. 1 appearance, while Julianne Hough teased another theme night and standout fashion moments still ahead. ABC also said Disney Night will return, and Sharna Burgess will rejoin the professional dancer lineup after a five-year hiatus.
What Sept. 2 settles
Sept. 2 is the point where speculation stops and the season takes shape for real. Names such as Nic Vansteenberghe, Flavor Flav and cast members from The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives had been linked to the season through reports and speculation, but the broadcast is the moment that sorts the official cast from the rumor pile.
For viewers, the practical move is simple: tune in during the 7 a.m. ET to 9 a.m. ET Good Morning America window if you want the full Season 35 lineup, not just the preview package. The Sept. 15 premiere follows quickly, so the reveal is the last clean scheduling checkpoint before the season starts on ABC and Disney+.
