Noah Jupe has joined Avengers: Secret Wars in a secret, prominent role. The character is still being kept under wraps, which fits the way Marvel is handling the second half of its two-part MCU event.
“Hamnet and A Quiet Place’s Noah Jupe has joined Avengers: Secret Wars in a secret, prominent role, TheWrap has learned.” That is the clearest signal yet that the cast is still expanding even as the film’s key identities stay sealed.
Joe Russo and Anthony Russo
Joe Russo and Anthony Russo are directing Avengers: Secret Wars as the follow-up to Avengers: Doomsday. The first film in that two-part setup already puts X-Men, New Avengers, Fantastic Four, Captain America’s Avengers, Wakanda and more against Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom, so the cast list for the sequel is being built inside a tightly controlled event plan.
Marvel is leaving room for a lot of interpretation by not naming Jupe’s part. That gives the studio flexibility, but it also means this casting lands as a signal rather than a reveal: the project is still adding pieces without showing the board.
Secret Wars in the 2010s
There are two obvious comic lanes for Avengers: Secret Wars to follow. The 1980s version came from Jim Shooter, Mike Zeck and Bob Layton, while the 2010s version came from Jonathan Hickman and Esad Ribić, and the sequel is more likely to draw from the later story.
That later run centers on Doctor Doom creating Battleworld after the death of the multiverse, a patchwork reality built from incursion sites across different worlds. It is the cleaner match for a sequel that already follows Avengers: Doomsday, which is adapting elements of Hickman’s Time Runs Out.
Jupe’s possible Marvel fit
Jupe could be playing Molecule Man, a Beyonder, an older version of Steve Rogers’ baby from a trailer for Avengers: Doomsday, or one of the young actors being courted for the X-Men. Each option points to a different corner of the MCU, and each keeps Marvel’s bigger payoff protected until later.
For now, the practical takeaway is simple: Marvel has added Noah Jupe to Avengers: Secret Wars, but the role remains hidden, so the casting changes the film’s depth without changing the public read on the character list. The real answer is still the one Marvel has not put on the table yet.
