Horror Nights at Universal Orlando Resort returned with 10 new houses for Halloween Horror Nights 35, split evenly between five IP-based houses and five original houses. For repeat visitors, that is the real shift: half the lineup leans on familiar brands, while the other half pushes new storylines into the event’s anniversary-year run.
Lora Sauls, the Assistant Director of Creative Development and Show Direction for Art, Design, and Entertainment at Universal Orlando Resort, said the Hellraiser house had been on the team’s bucket list for years. She added that all the details came together through snail mail, and that Clive Barker communicated with the team through traditional postal services.
Five IP houses return
The five IP-based houses were Stranger Things 5, Sinners, Hellraiser, Ozzy Osbourne, and Evil Dead Burn. That mix gives Halloween Horror Nights 35 a built-in floor of recognition, which is useful in a year built around scale: the event is not choosing between originals and IPs and; it is doing both at once.
Stranger Things 5 brought Demogorgons into the lineup, while Sinners, Hellraiser, Ozzy Osbourne, and Evil Dead Burn widened the tonal range. The result is a house slate that moves from creature scares to film-driven gore without asking guests to choose only one lane.
Jack and Dr Oddfellow
Jack the Clown and Dr. Oddfellow teamed up for a circus-themed house that gave a deeper look at Jack the Clown’s twisted origins. H.R. Bloodengutz also returned with a Halloween-favorites house, alongside Conjure the Funk and The Madness of Dr. Pumpkinspice.
That pairing matters because the anniversary-year edition is not built only on outside IPs. Five original houses keep the event tied to its own lore, and that is the part returning guests will notice first: the lineup is not a tribute reel, but a mix of new material and long-running house mythology.
Ozzy and Hellraiser
The Ozzy Osbourne house paid tribute to the Prince of Darkness and his music, with a Crazy Train reference folded into the design. Hellraiser leaned into gore and scares from the original film, which is the kind of source material that lets HHN pivot from atmosphere to outright attack.
For anyone planning a visit, the practical takeaway is simple: the 10-house expansion makes Halloween Horror Nights 35 a broader buy than a single-franchise year. The lineup rewards visitors who want familiar IPs, but the originals carry enough lore to make the anniversary run feel built for people who have been coming back for years.
