There is also the practical side. Konan has not arrived cold. He featured at this summer’s World Cup and has been doing private training camps, which should help him get up to speed quickly. That is a useful detail, because new signings often need time before they can truly help. Wolves are suggesting that should not be the case here.

Jackson’s praise went beyond personality and into footballing basics. Konan knows the system, brings physicality and enthusiasm, and has played at the highest level consistently well. In other words, Wolves have not signed a mystery project. They have signed a player with a clear reference point, a clear role, and a clear reason for being there.
That is why this move feels like a proper squad decision rather than a headline chase. Wolves needed another option at left-back after David Moller Wolfe’s departure, and Konan looks like the kind of professional signing clubs make when they want stability more than noise. If he settles quickly, the deal could look even better, because the club have already done the hard part: identifying a player the staff trust.
