Glen Powell plays Russ Holliday, a former hotshot college-football quarterback who ruined his own rise eight years before the events here. After that career-cancelling mistake, Russ rebuilt himself as Chad Powers with prosthetic whiskers, teeth, hair and an occasionally unreliable nose.

It is a shared secret inside the locker-room orbit, with Erika positioned as an assistant coach and a potential love interest while Gerry, played by Colton Ryan, keeps pressing as a displaced and dangerously disgruntled wannabe quarterback.

Colton Ryan’s Gerry gives the season a second pressure point even as Chad’s fake identity starts to fray. The show is still built on the same conceit, but the first episode’s missing nose pushes that premise closer to a breaking point rather than a reset.
The series has been compared with Eastbound & Down, Ted Lasso and Suits, and season two is now leaning harder into the mechanics that made the setup work in the first place: a man pretending badly enough that everyone around him has to decide whether to keep the game alive.

Chad Powers in season two does not get to coast on the disguise alone. With Danny and Erika already in on the secret, the show has to keep inventing reasons for Russ to stay upright inside the lie, and the nose falling off is the cleanest sign that the pressure is already showing.
The practical question now is how long the disguise can survive once multiple characters know what Russ Holliday is hiding. Season two’s first episode says the answer is measured in damage control, not in mystery.
