Coventry City have announced the signing of Yann Gboho from Toulouse on a long-term contract, completing a late move for the 25-year-old winger and attacking midfielder after Tuesday's transfer deadline paperwork was finalised through the deal sheet system.
The transfer brings in a player who has built up a steady resume across several clubs in Europe. Gboho had spells at Rennes, Vitesse Arnhem, Cercle Brugge and Toulouse before making the switch to Coventry City, giving the Championship club another attacking option as the window closes.
What Gboho brings
Gboho's time in France and abroad has been productive. During a two-and-a-half-year stint at Toulouse, he scored 19 goals and added 12 assists, numbers that point to a player who can contribute both as a scorer and a creator.
His earlier run at Vitesse Arnhem also offered experience on a bigger stage. In the 2021-22 season, he played 11 times in Vitesse's UEFA Conference League run to the last 16, before later moving to Cercle Brugge in August 2022 and then returning to France with Toulouse in January 2024.
A month after that move back to France, Gboho was already involved in European competition again, facing SL Benfica in the UEFA Europa League. That background gives Coventry a forward who has already seen a range of leagues, styles and pressure points.
