Liam Gallagher and Noel Gallagher turned the Oasis documentary premiere at the Venice Film Festival into a public reunion on Saturday night, drawing an eight-minute standing ovation inside the Palazzo del Cinema. The reaction also pushed the film firmly into release mode, with theaters set for Sept. 11 and Disney+ later this year.

Fans had set the temperature early, shouting “C’mon, boys!” and “Fight!” before the screening. The documentary is directed by Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace and follows Oasis Live '25, including backstage and onstage footage plus the first joint interview with Noel Gallagher and Liam Gallagher in over 20 years. That makes the Venice premiere more than a retrospective: it is a public presentation of how the reunion has been staged for the screen, not just a record of the tour itself.
The brothers last played together in 2009, and the reunion tour last year marked their first time back onstage since then. Tickets sold out immediately and the tour generated hundreds of millions of dollars across dates in the U.K., North America, South Korea, Japan, Australia, Argentina, Chile and Brazil, which is why a film built from that run arrives with real commercial weight before it even opens.

Theatrical rollout starts on Sept. 11, then the film bows on Disney+ later this year. For viewers who want the reunion without the festival gloss, that means the Venice reception is the first hard signal of how the project lands before it moves into wide release.
