Sandeep Lamichhane continued his strong run in the ACC Premier Cup on Tuesday in Kuala Lumpur, finishing with 4/44 from 10 overs against Hong Kong in Nepal’s final group match.
It was another effective outing for Nepal’s leg-spinner, who had already taken wickets consistently earlier in the tournament. Before the Hong Kong match, Lamichhane had figures of 5/14 against Bahrain, 1/22 against Malaysia and 3/19 against Saudi Arabia.
Against Hong Kong, the wickets kept coming at important moments as Nepal stayed in control of the contest. At the time of writing, Hong Kong were 215/7 in the 48th over, with Lamichhane again central to Nepal’s bowling effort.
Lamichhane’s tournament impact
The larger takeaway for Nepal is simple: Lamichhane has been a wicket-taking threat in every match of the ACC Premier Cup so far. That kind of consistency gives Nepal a reliable attacking option through the middle and later overs, and it has also made him one of the standout bowlers in the competition.
His spell against Hong Kong added to that trend. In a tournament where Nepal needed controlled, repeatable performances with the ball, Lamichhane has delivered them one after another.
