PS5 Pro news is moving from beta to a wider rollout, and Sony’s PS5 system software update 14.0 adds Enhanced PSSR by default for supported games. The change means PS5 Pro owners will not need to switch the feature on manually for titles that support it.
The update has already been in the hands of PlayStation 5 beta testers for two weeks, according to YouTuber TCMFGamesOFFICIAL. Sony has not set the public release date, but the update is expected in the coming weeks and could land before the end of September.

Enhanced PSSR is the graphics change that matters here. It is exclusive to PS5 Pro, so the automatic default only applies on that console and only in supported games.
For players, that removes one extra setup step before booting a game. It also means the console, not the user, decides whether the feature is active when a supported title starts.
Bluetooth and HDMI Link changes
The same update also changes Bluetooth and console settings on both PS5 and PS5 Pro. If Bluetooth is switched off, the console will no longer enter Rest Mode.
If Bluetooth is switched off, HDMI Link will also be disabled. That makes this more than a graphics patch, because a settings change in one part of the system now affects how the console behaves elsewhere.
PS5 Pro and supported games
The practical limit is simple. Enhanced PSSR only changes behavior in supported games, so the default setting will not affect every title on the system.
That leaves one open question for PS5 Pro owners: when Sony pushes PS5 system software update 14.0 to everyone, the company has still not named the exact day.
