Sky Go now has a redesigned version for Sky Glass and Sky Stream customers, and it is available today. The update puts mobile and tablet closer to the TV side of the system, with Continue Watching, My Library and remote recording built into the same app.

The new version is designed for Sky Glass and Sky Stream customers, bringing more of the experience they enjoy on the big screen to their devices, so it’s easier to pick up a show, follow the match or set something to record wherever they are."
Sky OS look and feel
The new version takes its cues from the look and feel of Sky OS, with a navigation bar that puts Home, the TV Guide, My Library, Sport and Search within easy reach. That layout matters because it turns Sky Go into more than a catch-up app: it becomes the handoff point between the living room screen and a phone or tablet.
Sky has also pushed the practical side of the update. The home screen surfaces the Best of Sky, Movies, TV shows, Sport and Kids, while the refreshed TV Guide is designed to simplify the steps needed to choose and tune into live TV channels. For customers moving between devices, that saves taps rather than adding features for their own sake.
My Library and live sport
My Library brings together available shows, films and sport saved in customers’ Playlist at home on Sky Go, along with recently watched content and downloads. The app also supports streaming in full HD and gives access to all live and on-demand Sky content, including live Sky Sports and selected partner content tied to the subscription.
For sport, the app’s changes track with a wider push around live coverage. This season, Sky Sports offers more than 1,500 football matches, every Formula 1 race weekend, international cricket Test, and every shot from the golf Majors, so a faster route to live sport is not cosmetic; it is the path that decides whether a customer lands on a match or scrolls past it.
No extra cost on Sky TV
Sky Go is included at no extra cost with a Sky TV subscription, and Sky Mobile customers can stream on the go without using mobile data. The update also adds new show and movie pages with programme information, cast and crew details, Rotten Tomatoes scores and recommendations, plus a parents’ guide for kids’ movies.
The wrinkle is that Sky is selling the release as a major upgrade, but it only spells out additions, not any features that were removed or changed. The source also does not say whether every Sky Glass and Sky Stream customer will see the new version immediately or in a staged rollout, so the practical takeaway is simple: if the app appears on a device today, it is meant to make the TV-to-mobile handoff easier right away.
