That exchange sets the frame for a premiere season built around disclosure rather than full access. Glassman’s husband is staying off-camera, so the show gets the marriage as a subject without the husband as a participant, which leaves her castmates to react to her version of events instead of a two-sided appearance.

Glassman said her husband is descended from the "first Jewish settlers on Martha's Vineyard" and described him as having "a really big business" there. She said, "He wasn't willing to compromise. He didn't want to ruin his family's legacy."
Glassman also said, "We've known each other since he was 12 years old," and added, "We were neighbors in Martha's Vineyard, and we met at sailing camp." She said they still split time between New York City and Martha's Vineyard, going back and forth and spending summers there, while she keeps her own routine with the board of charities and tennis.
