Suchitepéquez and Guastatoya will meet on Wednesday, September 9 at 20:10 hours in the octava jornada of the Torneo Apertura 2026. The match will be played at estadio Carlos Salazar hijo and will be broadcast by FOX and Claro Sports.
The game comes at a very different moment for both clubs. Guastatoya's recent form
Guastatoya also has had some uneven results, but its position in the standings reflects a stronger start overall. The team lost 4-2 at Mixco and then 2-1 at home to Marquense before responding with a 1-0 away win over Cobán Imperial in its last presentation.
That result helped keep Guastatoya in the upper part of the table and added another sign that the team is competing well in the Torneo Apertura 2026. The Pecho Amarillo arrive with more points, better momentum and a clearer place in the race for the top positions.
What to expect
Both coaches are not expected to make many lineup changes, so the match should feature familiar starting sides. That adds to the importance of the opening minutes, especially for Suchitepéquez, which needs points quickly to climb out of the bottom of the standings.
