Seattle Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald had a family update to share this week: he and Stephanie Macdonald are expecting a baby girl in December.
Macdonald revealed the news on The Dan Patrick Show on July 9, 2026, adding another personal milestone to an offseason that already included the Seattle Seahawks' Super Bowl LX victory celebration and parade at Lumen Field on February 11, 2026.
A growing family for the Seahawks coach
The baby girl will be the second child for Mike Macdonald and Stephanie Macdonald. Their son, Jax, is a year and a half old, and Macdonald said he is enjoying this stage of family life.
"Spend all the time with our family this offseason," Macdonald said, adding, "Now Jax, he's a year and a half." He described his son as someone who already has "a personality and attitude" and "some interests," while the family works on teaching him how to talk.
Macdonald also said the next addition is already official in family planning, even if the name is not being shared yet. "We got another on the way. So, it's gonna be fun. A baby girl in December... We do have a name but we'll tell everybody a little later," he said.
Stephanie Macdonald's NFL background
Stephanie Macdonald has her own NFL connection as a former Pro Bowl cheerleader. In a 2022 interview with the Ravens' official website, she said cheering had been a lifelong goal and described her eight years with three different teams as a dream come true.
"This is his dream job, coaching in the NFL, and cheering, that was my dream," she said. "Like, I always wanted to cheer in the NFL."
She also recalled going to the Pro Bowl in 2014, the same year the Ravens coaches all went to the Pro Bowl. That background gives the Macdonald family a long NFL history, even as their current chapter is centered on Seattle.
There was also a cameo note attached to the family’s public presence, with Jack and Stephanie appearing during HBO's Hard Knocks. But the clearest takeaway from Macdonald's latest appearance is simple: the Seahawks coach is preparing for another child, and December will bring a new addition to the family.
