Jones, 86 years old, said earlier this week that he had been removed from the series despite wanting to stay. He said he had been offered a “much-reduced role” and added: “The only thing I know right now is that there's never a good time to fire an 86-year-old who's still pretty good at his job.”

ITV said the changes will take effect from the next series, with Dixon and Solomon replacing Emma Willis as presenters. Willis had fronted the singing contest since 2014, so this is not a routine adjustment but a full reset of the on-air lineup.
Solomon’s arrival also reaches back to 2009, when she came second on The X Factor. Dixon already brings a long link to ITV entertainment, and the network is leaning on that familiarity while it refreshes The Voice UK rather than simply swapping one face for another.
Cheryl and Aitch join
Cheryl and Aitch will join the coaching panel, while Kelly Rowland and Will.I.Am remain in place. That keeps two established names on the chairs and gives the show a new balance around them, which is usually how a revamp tries to keep continuity while signaling change.
The move also narrows Tom Jones’s path back onto the programme. He said there would not be a chair for him under the new coaching line-up, and the offer he described was a reduced role rather than the seat he had occupied before.

Jones said the reason given was “a financial difficulty with insurance.” He also said he was “not thrilled about” the change, and ITV responded by thanking the “irreplaceable Sir Tom Jones” for his years on The Voice UK and the “countless incredible and unforgettable moments” he gave the show.
