Jenny Taft Joins Carli Lloyd for Weekly Podcast Launch

Jenny Taft is joining Carli Lloyd on a new weekly podcast that starts on September 10, 2026. iHeartPodcasts announced Whatever It Takes with Carli Lloyd and Jenny Taft as a sports and culture show built around the week in sports, family, motherhood and greatness.

September 10 on iHeartRadio

The first episode was available the same day the show joined the iHeart Soccer Network, and new episodes are set for Thursdays. That gives the series a fixed weekly cadence from the start, with distribution through the iHeartRadio app and everywhere podcasts are heard.

Carli Lloyd said, “Jenny and I have developed a great friendship over the years, and I’m thrilled to team up with her and iHeartPodcasts on this new venture.” She also said the show is “a space where we can share our experiences, learn from incredible guests and talk openly about the challenges and triumphs that come with pursuing your goals both on and off the field.”

Jenny Taft and 2015

Taft tied the partnership to 2015, saying, “I first crossed paths with Carli Lloyd while covering the 2015 Women’s World Cup.” Her comments make the launch feel less like a one-off celebrity pairing and more like a reunion of two people who already have a shared professional history.

She added that it has been “an absolute privilege” to move from covering Lloyd’s career to calling her “a friend and fellow colleague,” and said the pair will talk “from the beautiful game to the realities of being working moms.”

Leo Gomez on the launch

Leo Gomez said Lloyd and Taft are “legends in their respective fields,” but emphasized that they are also “bold, relatable voices people genuinely want to hear from.” He said the show will go “beyond the headlines and highlight reels,” and described it as “the kind of honest, energizing and deeply human show we all need right now.”

The premiere episode is set to reflect on World Cups past and present, explain the story behind the podcast’s creation, and address balancing career, family and motherhood. That mix creates the only real pressure point here: the show is built around those demands, yet it also launches as a weekly series, so the production has to prove it can keep that personal conversation sharp every Thursday without turning repetitive.

Stu Holden and Alexi Lalas

The series will also include special guests such as Stu Holden and Alexi Lalas, which points to a format that can widen beyond the two hosts without losing its core identity. For listeners, the immediate practical takeaway is simple: the first episode is already live, and the weekly slot is Thursdays, so the show now has a clear place in the schedule and a built-in rhythm for the audience to follow.
