Bromley showed real resilience at Bloomfield Road as they came from behind twice to draw 2-2 with Blackpool in League One. For Andy Woodman, it was a much-needed response after a difficult run, while for the Seasiders it was another reminder that a lead is never safe.
The result ended Bromley's three-game losing streak and stopped a sequence in which they had conceded 14 goals across those defeats. It was only the second competitive meeting between the two clubs, with Blackpool having beaten the Ravens 2-0 in an FA Cup first round clash in November 2023.
Blackpool strike early, Bromley answer
Blackpool made the stronger start and were ahead in the 10th minute when Albie Morgan opened the scoring. That kind of early goal can settle a home side, especially when the pressure is on the visitors after a poor run.
Bromley did not let it become a one-sided afternoon. Victor Adeboyejo levelled later in the first half, giving the Ravens a route back into the contest and shifting the momentum before the interval.
Twice behind, twice level
Blackpool looked to have regained control just before half-time when Tom Bloxham restored their lead. At that stage, it felt like the Seasiders had done enough to see the game out.
But Bromley again found a reply. Ten minutes after the break, JJ McKiernan's free-kick deflected in off Jordan Brown for the second equaliser, and that was enough to secure a point.
For Woodman, the draw will feel more important than glamorous. Bromley were under pressure coming into the game, but they showed the sort of fight that can change the mood around a team, even if the standings still leave plenty to play for.
Blackpool, meanwhile, will look at the points dropped rather than the positives. They had the lead twice at Bloomfield Road and still could not close the door, which is the sort of detail that can matter over the course of a League One season.
The result also adds a little more context to the Blackpool F.C. vs Bromley F.C. standings, with Bromley at least able to leave Lancashire with something to build on after a testing spell.
