Kyle Tucker broke open a close game with a seventh-inning grand slam, and the Dodgers beat the Marlins 6-2 on Friday night in Miami.
The win was the Dodgers' eighth straight and improved them to 90-57. It also trimmed their Magic No. to clinch the NL West to 4, putting them even closer to closing out the division race.
What Tucker did
Tucker's grand slam was the biggest swing of the night, turning the Dodgers' lead into a more comfortable margin. He finished with five RBIs in the game, giving Los Angeles the run-producing hit it needed after a tight start.
The Dodgers had already been rolling before arriving in Miami. They came in on an eight-game winning streak after beating the Cincinnati Reds 14-1 at Dodger Stadium on Wednesday, and they kept that momentum going against the Marlins.

Josue De Paula also made his MLB debut for the Dodgers on Friday night, adding another notable moment to a game that mattered in the standings as well as on the field.
For the Marlins, the loss dropped them to 72-76. The teams were scheduled to continue the series Saturday at 1:10 p.m. ET at loanDepot Park, with Tyler Glasnow set to start for the Dodgers against Tyler Phillips for Miami.
