Cam Little now stands alone as the owner of the longest NFL field goal in history after drilling a 68-yard kick on Nov. 2, 2025, for the Jacksonville Jaguars in Las Vegas against the Raiders. It was the kind of moment that instantly reshaped the record book, and it came from a kicker who had already shown in the 2025 preseason that distance was no problem for him.
The record had belonged to Justin Tucker since 2021, when he hit from 66 yards. That mark had been the standard until Little pushed it further, and in doing so he also strengthened the argument that he is now the current holder of both the longest and second-longest field goals in NFL history entering the 2026 NFL season.
How the record changed
Little’s path to the top has been unusual because the breakthrough was not a one-off display of leg strength. In the 2025 preseason, he made a 70-yard field goal, which immediately signalled that a historic regular-season kick could be within reach.
Then came Nov. 2, 2025. Against the Raiders in Las Vegas, Little made a 68-yard field goal and broke Tucker’s previous NFL record. The distance matters, but so does the context: this was not a desperate heave at the end of a half. It was a kick that travelled far enough to move the benchmark for everyone else in the league.
What makes the story even more striking is that the old idea of what a top-end NFL leg looked like had already shifted before Little arrived. Multiple kickers had previously reached 63 yards, but nobody had managed to stretch past Tucker’s 66-yard record until Little did it in 2025.
Little’s place in the record book
The 2026 NFL season begins with Little holding a rare distinction. He is the current record-holder for the longest field goal in NFL history, and he also owns the second-longest after making a 67-yard field goal against the Tennessee Titans in Jacksonville on Jan. 4, 2026.
That is the detail that gives this record real weight. It is one thing to break through once. It is another to do it again, and to do it with enough consistency that the same kicker is now sitting at the top of the all-time list twice over.
Little was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft with the No. 212 overall pick. For a player taken there, the scale of what has followed is remarkable. The Jaguars did not simply get a reliable specialist; they appear to have found a kicker capable of changing the ceiling for what is considered possible from long range.
The record now belongs to Little, and unless someone else answers with something even bigger, the longest NFL field goal in history will be measured in Jacksonville’s favour for the foreseeable future.
