La Catalina now sits at the center of Roxanne Perez’s AAA story. Perez said AAA invited her to train and be part of its shows when she was 16, but she could not take the opening at the time. A title shot in 2026 gives that missed chance a new weight.
“Everybody knows that I started training really young. I started training when I was 13. And I knew that I couldn’t, starting that young, you know that you can’t really get too many opportunities because you do have to wait until you’re a legal adult. So I think my mindset was just like, okay, I know I have a couple years to go, but I’m going to use all of these years to get as great as I can, so when the opportunity comes, I’m so ready.” Perez said that to MuscleManMalcolm.
AAA at 16
At 16, she said Triple A invited her to come and train there and be part of its shows. She called it one of her first opportunities on the independents. The deal did not happen, though, because she was too young and her parents were not fully about it yet.
That missed opening now sits beside a much later result: Perez recently defeated Nattie, La Hiedra, and Faby Apache at WWE X AAA Worlds Collide to win a AAA Reina de Reinas title shot. The path is narrower now, but it is also more public, with the challenge attached to a major crossover event rather than an early-career invite.
Rok-C in 2022
In 2022, Perez, then known as Rok-C, challenged Deonna Purrazzo for the AAA Reina de Reinas title and put her ROH Women’s World title on the line. That earlier challenge matters because it shows this is not a one-off visit to AAA; it is the latest step in a line that has already crossed once before.
She is 24-years-old now, and her own words make the shift plain: “So I didn’t get that opportunity, but now, now I’m kicking the door down, and I’m here, and I’m not asking anybody for permission. I’m here, and I’m going to take over Triple A. Just watch,” she said.
2026 title shot
That challenge is scheduled for 2026, which gives Perez a long runway and AAA a clear return on a story it first opened when she was still a teenager. The immediate takeaway is simple: the opportunity that once slipped away has turned into a title chase, and Perez is treating the comeback as a statement, not a favor.
