Forest Green Rovers have agreed a short-term loan deal for West Ham United midfielder Preston Fearon, sending the 19-year-old into his first senior spell away from the club.
The move gives Fearon an immediate chance to play regular football after spending time as a regular in West Ham's under-21 side. It also removes one of the academy's rising players from the development setup for the next stage of his growth.

Forest Green manager Robbie Savage said the club needed a player in and added that Fearon had chosen them despite interest from other clubs. Savage said Fearon would be useful over the next one to three months and described the midfielder as someone who can bring energy, creativity, skill and work ethic.
Savage also pointed out that this is Fearon's first senior football experience in terms of loans, which makes the move an important step in his career. For a young midfielder, the chance to move from under-21 football into a senior environment can be a useful test of how quickly he can adapt.
