Dominick Bianchi, 35, was found dead in a wooded area after going missing last week from his East Greenbush home. The discovery ended a search that began after he was last seen on Tuesday morning. East Greenbush Police Department Detective Sergeant Michael Guadagnino said the department extends its deepest condolences to Bianchi’s family, loved ones, and all those affected by the loss.
Bianchi left behind his cellphone, wallet and car when he disappeared, a detail that helped drive concern during the search. Family members were also worried he did not have his insulin with him, because he had type 1 diabetes. His wife, Julianna Zyra, said he had been struggling recently with his mental health and had been married to her just months ago.

Guadagnino said, "The East Greenbush Police Department extends its deepest condolences to Dominick’s family, loved ones, and all those affected by this tragic loss" and added, "Our thoughts are with them as they navigate this incredibly difficult time." Police had asked locals to check their properties and surveillance cameras for any signs of Bianchi, and later offered their sincere gratitude for the help.
A cause of death was not immediately announced. That leaves the central question of the case unresolved even as the missing-person search has ended, and it is the piece that will shape what comes next for Bianchi’s family and for East Greenbush.
