Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service dealt with a car fire on the A338 near Ashley Heath Roundabout on Tuesday September 15 after the blaze spread to nearby heathland. The eastbound carriageway was closed temporarily while crews worked at the scene.
The service said it was called at 12.46pm to reports of a vehicle fire. Two crews attended from Springbourne and Christchurch, and two breathing apparatus wearers used one hose reel jet to put out the fire. The stop came in at 1.21pm.

The report places the fire near Ashley Heath Roundabout, while Dorset Police said it received a report at 12.46pm of a vehicle fire on the northbound carriageway of the A338 Spur Road, north of the Cooper Dean Roundabout. Officers attended along with the fire service.
That difference in location matters for drivers trying to work out which stretch of road was affected. The road was described as busy, and delays were expected while the closure and recovery work were under way.
