Tommy Bridewell will remain with Superbike Advocates through the 2027 season after the rider and the rookie WorldSBK team agreed to extend their partnership. The deal secures Bridewell’s place in the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship for another year and gives both sides a chance to build on a debut campaign that has already delivered steady progress.
For Bridewell, the extension adds another chapter to a WorldSBK career that has unfolded in stages. He first appeared in a pair of races at Portimao in 2008 on a Suzuki GSX-R1000 K8, returned for another pair of WorldSBK outings on Honda machinery in 2010, and then rode five races with a Ducati in 2019. More recently, he contested 11 races from 2024-2025 while also riding for Honda Racing UK in BSB before moving into a full-time WorldSBK role in 2026.
A rookie team making steady gains
Superbike Advocates entered WorldSBK level for its first season in 2026, and Bridewell immediately became the centerpiece of that effort. The team scored points in Race 2 at Portimao in its debut round, then took its first top eight at Most three rounds later. Bridewell also logged season-high P5 finishes at Aragon and Donington Park, useful markers for a team still building its base at World Championship level.
That kind of progress helps explain why the extension was an easy call. Lee Khouri said Bridewell has been a huge part of the team’s progress in its first WorldSBK season, and described continuing together into 2027 as an easy decision. He added that the squad started from scratch with the ambition of fighting at the front, and believes there is still more to come.
Bridewell echoed that sentiment, saying he was really looking forward to building on this year’s success in 2027. He thanked Lee and the team for the opportunity, called the debut season fantastic, and said the continuity will be key as the championship heads toward changes on the horizon, including tyres and other areas. He also noted that the first priority is to finish the 2026 season as strongly as possible before turning quickly to 2027 preparation.
What the extension means
The timing matters for both rider and team. Bridewell gets clarity on his WorldSBK future after years of making occasional appearances before finally landing a full-time ride, while Superbike Advocates gets stability as it continues to establish itself against more experienced opposition. In a championship where small details can matter, keeping the same rider-team pairing in place should help with development, feedback and setup continuity.
There is still work to do before the 2026 season ends at Jerez, but the direction is clear. Bridewell and Superbike Advocates will head into 2027 together, with both sides focused on turning a promising start into something even stronger.
