Jesika L. The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office said she was later released on appearance tickets.

Authorities charged Christiansen with third-degree welfare fraud and two counts of offering a false instrument for filing. All of the charges are felonies, and the case centers on SNAP forms investigators said contained false information about her employment.

The forms were filed in November 2024 and May 2025, according to investigators. Authorities said the alleged fraud occurred between December 2024 and May 2025, placing the case across several months rather than a single filing.

Ballston Spa Village Court

Christiansen is due to appear in Ballston Spa Village Court. For readers following similar cases, the immediate procedural step is the court appearance, where the felony charges can move forward under the local process tied to the arrest.

What investigators used to conclude the employment information was false was not detailed, leaving the filing issue at the center of the case. Christiansen remains charged, but the release on appearance tickets means the next step comes through court rather than continued custody.
