Sparkes kept his weekly recording sessions secret for over the past nine months by telling classmates he was going to physiotherapy for a foot injury, a neat bit of cover that shows how tightly the production was kept from school life. That secrecy now flips into publicity value: the voice of Thomas is a 13-year-old local newcomer, not a familiar screen name.
