The Bethel-Tate Local School Board accepted her resignation at its Sept. 15 meeting. Kircher joined the district in August 2011, and the school district said she has helped lead it through years of change, challenges and progress, always with a focus on serving students, families and the Bethel-Tate community.

The district serves more than 1,500 students in four schools across the Village of Bethel and Tate Township. That puts the leadership change at the center of daily district operations, because the superintendent role sits above the systems that guide school staffing, communication and long-range planning for those buildings.
District officials said plans for selecting Kircher's successor and managing the leadership transition will be shared later. For parents, staff and students, that means the resignation is in place, but the district has not yet laid out who will take over or how it will handle the handoff.

Kircher's departure closes a stretch that began when she joined the district in August 2011. Her final day on Jan. 3 gives the district a set end point, and the next public update should show whether the board keeps the process internal or announces a broader transition plan for the weeks after she leaves.
