Lexington High School was placed on lockdown Thursday after a phoned-in threat. Deputies set up a large perimeter around the campus while officers swept and secured the grounds.
Under the lockdown, no one could enter or leave except law enforcement personnel and school administrators. Parents and driver were advised to avoid the area while the school was secured.

Just after 1:30 p.m., Lexington School District 1 said investigators had found evidence indicating the threat was not credible. Even so, the campus stayed closed until law enforcement cleared all classrooms as a precaution.
