Rather than focusing only on the team, the series looks at the construction workers and project team behind the stadium. That wider view gives Dawkins' role added weight, with the five-time Pro Bowl lineman serving as an executive producer and central voice in a project about the people who helped create the Bills' new home.

Dawkins said he was proud to be part of a project that celebrates the people who helped build the stadium and what it means to Bills Mafia. A nearly two-year build captured on film
The documentary also includes the perspective of Andy Johnson, who said working on the new Highmark Stadium for nearly two years was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Building Buffalo will air in two parts, with episode one on Thursday, Sept. 17 at 7 p.m. and episode two on Thursday, Sept. 24 at 7 p.m. The documentary references construction milestones from 2022, 2023, June 05, 2023, August 23, 2024 and the day of ribbon cutting in 2026, giving the series a clear sense of the stadium's journey from start to finish.
For the Bills, it is a chance to mark a major moment in the club's history. For Dawkins, it is also a chance to use his platform to tell a story that goes beyond football and gives credit to the people who built the stage the team will now play on.
