Freeview has announced nine channel changes for 16th September 2026, including the launch of Lucky Cat TV on channel 63. Viewers with Freeview-powered TVs in the UK may need to retune so their channels and the TV Guide stay up to date.
Freeview said, "On 16th September 2026 some broadcasters are making changes to their channels." It added: "You will need to retune to update your TV and keep your channels and TV Guide up to date," and said most new devices now prompt users to retune when a new service launches or a change has taken place.
Lucky Cat TV and channel moves
The update includes a new launch and several channel swaps. Lucky Cat TV will launch on channel 63, while Great! Player will move from channel 63 to channel 62. Your TV Extra will move from channel 75 to channel 76, Your TV MCR will move from channel 79 to channel 80, and That's TV 2 MCR will move from channel 86 to channel 79.
For viewers, the practical issue is keeping channel positions and the TV Guide aligned after those changes take effect. Freeview said some devices will prompt users automatically, but it also said a manual retune is required from time to time. Four of the updates are renames.
