Jamie Demetriou will host the second episode of Saturday Night Live UK Season 2 on Sept. 12, with Royal Blood set as the musical guest. The booking fills out the opening run of the series before it reaches US viewers after the UK broadcast on Peacock in the US.
Season 2 opens on Sky
Saturday Night Live UK Season 2 will premiere on Sky in the UK on Sept. 12, giving the show a fixed launch point before the episode hosted by Demetriou follows in the rollout. Jeff Goldblum was announced last week as the host of the first episode, with CMAT attached as that night’s musical guest.
Amelia Dimoldenberg will host the third episode, and Rachel Chinouriri will appear as the musical guest for that installment. That early schedule gives the season three distinct combinations of host and performer before the run moves from Sky in the UK and then to Peacock in the US.
Season 1 set the benchmark
March 21, 2026 was the start of Season 1, and the debut episode drew 226,000 viewers on Sky. The show had been met with early skepticism before that first season aired, which is why the second-season rollout now looks less like an experiment and more like a structure the producers can repeat.
Helen Kruger Bratt said, “What went in its favour was that it was talked about so much even before it was on air, and not necessarily in a great way, and actually, I think that played into our favour in that we were able to take on board that criticism and address them in the show”. She added, “So it's all about engaging in that conversation and not shying away from it.”
Demetriou’s Season 1 link
Demetriou is not coming in cold. He worked as a consultant on Season 1, and he had previously collaborated with Daran Jonno Johnson, which gives this second-episode slot a clearer internal logic than a standard guest booking.
