Kelly Clarkson offered Hazel Gerson a piece of her clip-in hair during the Sept. 21 premiere of The Voice Season 30, and Gerson chose Team Kelly. Adam Levine was back on the red chairs for the episode, which opened the Blind Auditions before one-hour installments on Sept. 22 and Sept. 23.

Gerson, 21, sang Alex Clare's “Too Close” and drew chairs from Clarkson and Riley Green. During Clarkson's pitch, Gerson interrupted to say “long hair looks really beautiful,” then learned the look came from clip-in extensions. Clarkson replied, “Thank you! I'll give it to you. It's clip-in. You can have it!”
Clarkson then held up a piece of the extension and pressed the point to Gerson: “I will share. Don't you want a coach that will share with you?” Gerson called the choice “easy” and joined Team Kelly, becoming the season's first artist for Clarkson's team.

Green also pitched Gerson after turning for her performance. He said, “I'll be honest with you. I saw this hair up close and I don't know if you want it.” Gerson still moved to Clarkson, and Adam Levine ended the exchange by asking her to make her choice.
The premiere also showed how the season started around the return of Levine and Clarkson, alongside first-time coaches Green and Queen Latifah. The Blind Auditions continued after the two-hour Sept. 21 opener, with one-hour episodes at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Sept. 22 and Sept. 23.
Joe Henley on Team Riley
The same premiere also sent 19-year-old Alabama singer Joe Henley to Team Riley after he sang Travis Tritt's “Anymore.” Clarkson and Green both turned for him, but Green won the pitch after joining Henley for a verse of “My Way.”
That left Clarkson with her first artist and Green with an early win of his own, while the Blind Auditions kept moving through the three-night opening run.
