Billy Bush is joining Media as a contributor, and his first appearance is set for Tuesday night on Jesse Watters Primetime at 8 p.m. ET. The move puts him back on network television after a run in entertainment news and live-event coverage that stretched across NBC and Extra.

Media said Bush will provide cultural analysis across its programming and appear across its platforms. Bush said, "I'm excited to join Media and its loyal audience to share my perspective on the people, ideas and moments shaping today's culture…. as well as the ones trying to undo it!"
The assignment fits the kind of coverage Bush has done before. He hosted Extra for five seasons from 2019 to 2025, briefly served as a co-host of the third hour of Today before that, and earlier worked as the East Coast correspondent for Access Hollywood and hosted The Billy Bush Show.
Access Hollywood and NBC
Bush is joining Media a decade after the Access Hollywood recording upended his television career. The previously unaired 2005 tape was published in 2016, and he left NBC afterward.
That history makes this hire more than a routine contributor add. Media is bringing in a familiar live-television voice with a long entertainment résumé, but the scope of his role is still broad: cultural analysis across the network rather than a single fixed franchise.
2004 to 2016
Bush covered the Olympics for NBC from 2004 to 2016, reported live from the 2011 wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton for NBC News, and has also covered the Golden Globes, Grammys and Academy Awards. Those credits point to a reporter built for recurring public-facing segments, which is exactly how contributor jobs are usually used when a network wants a personality who can move between interviews, commentary and live reaction.
Tuesday night gives the first real look at how Media plans to use him. If the appearance lands, the hire gives the network an entertainment-news veteran with name recognition and a built-in backstory; if it does not, the unanswered issue is how narrowly or broadly his cultural-analysis role will be defined after the debut.
