Tony Nargi said a coastal flood warning goes into effect Wednesday afternoon as northeast winds strengthen and tidal flooding lines up with the 8 AM and 8 PM high tide cycles. People in flood-prone areas should expect the most water around those tides, with minor flooding possible this evening before conditions worsen.

Nargi said winds will pick up out of the northeast at 15 to 25 mph tonight, then increase to 20 to 30 mph Wednesday afternoon with gusts to 40+ mph. He added that rainfall totals Wednesday will be around 1 inch, yet tidal flooding is still expected during both high tide cycles.
Wednesday and Thursday
Wednesday starts with showers and windy conditions, then turns into a steadier rain and stronger wind by afternoon. High temperatures will only reach the low 70s. On Thursday, the forecast shifts to less rain but more wind and tidal flooding, with moderate to major flooding expected in the morning and evening and 2 to 3 feet of floodwater inundation possible in flood-prone areas.
Friday and beyond
Nargi said Friday will bring similar conditions, with occasional showers, pockets of drizzle, strong winds, and tidal flooding. Temperatures will struggle to make it out of the 60s, while breezy conditions continue into the weekend. The coastal storm is expected to linger to the north on Saturday, turn west on Sunday, and then allow calmer conditions by Monday and Tuesday.
