Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya is one goal away from making PSL league history after extending his scoring run to seven consecutive Betway Premiership matches for AmaZulu.
The 23-year-old scored again on Saturday as AmaZulu beat Polokwane City 1-0, and the goal kept one of the strongest individual storylines of the early season moving forward. Ngwenya now has eight Betway Premiership goals and is within reach of the longest scoring streak in PSL league history.

Ngwenya has already matched a PSL-era mark previously reached by only two other players. Grant Young first did it for Hellenic in 1999, while Esau Kanyenda repeated the feat for Jomo Cosmos in 2002. Both players scored in seven consecutive league matches, which is the benchmark Ngwenya has now tied.
The next league appearance gives him the chance to stand alone at the top of that list. If Ngwenya scores again, he will set the longest such run in PSL league history, turning an impressive start into a notable place in the competition's record book.
