Tina Black reached the Season 34 finale of The Ultimate Fighter and will face Melissa Amaya on Saturday at the Meta APEX. Black beat Natalia Alves in the second round, then took a three-round unanimous decision over Delphine Benouaich to earn the final spot. She was the first woman selected in the competition and Daniel Cormier used his second pick on her, a sign she entered the house as one of the bracket’s most trusted pieces from the start.
Season 34 and the final bout
The path to Saturday runs through two very different wins. A stoppage over Alves gave Black the cleanest route forward, while the three-round decision against Benouaich asked for more patience and more output over the full fight distance. That combination has made her the more seasoned finalist on the strawweight side of Season 34.
Melissa Amaya reached the same stage by knocking off Anna Melisano and Gigi Canuto. “I feel really grateful for everything,” Black said before the finale. “I’ve been dreaming a lot for this moment, and now we’re here.” She also said, “I didn’t feel pressure because I think they wanted to find great people, great girls for getting to the finale, and win, and I feel like I’m that.”
“I survived!” Black said, and that is the cleanest read on her run. She added, “I’ve got a lot of experience,” and, “I (fought on) a lot of shows —a lot of big shows — and now I’m here in the UFC.”

The complication is simple: Saturday’s fight sits on a UFC card, but it does not count as a UFC bout in the same way a regular roster fight does. That makes the finale feel like a gate rather than a finish line, with Black’s experience and Amaya’s momentum meeting under the same roof and only one fighter leaving with the next step she has been chasing.
Black summed up the moment best herself: “You stay over there with a lot of people, I want to get the contract, and now I’m in the finale, and I feel like, ‘Oh my gosh —I did it.’” That is the business end of this season — one bout, one winner, and one more narrow path from a reality-series bracket to the UFC.
