Dan Quinn: another week, another adjustment
Quinn said the staff would consult with the medical team before making a final decision, but the outcome was already clear for Sunday's trip to Seattle: none of the three would be available. That means the Commanders must again adjust personnel at linebacker, tight end and right guard against the Seattle Seahawks.
For a Week 3 matchup, that is a sizeable reshuffle. Losing one starter is manageable. Losing three players from different position groups at the same time forces a more complicated response, especially when one of those absences comes on the offensive line.
Where Washington have to cope
Luvu's absence is felt on the defensive side, where his role matters to the Commanders' physicality and structure. Okonkwo's injury leaves another hole at tight end, while Cosmi's situation is the most disruptive from a protection standpoint because right guard is an area where continuity matters.
The Commanders now have to find solutions quickly before facing the Seahawks. That does not guarantee a poor performance, but it does mean the margin for error is thinner than it would have been with a full group available.
